Fidelity has been a household name in the cryptocurrency industry for several years now. They started their office of Digital Assets way back in 2014, they have had a data reporting partnership with Coinbase for several years and they recently released a Bitcoin offering for retirement assets.
But this strategic move is quite different.
Fidelity Crypto is Fidelity's first push to directly compete for US retail consumers in the very competitive mobile cryptocurrency trading space. Fidelity will now join large global crypto power players like Robinhood, Coinbase, and CashApp.
This space gets more crowded and more interesting every single day-- and it will continue to be one to watch.
